CORRECT
STRAIGHT LENGTHS (CSL)
Correct
straight length are tubes which have been mechanically
straightened and then cut to specific lengths as specified by
the customer.
CORRECT
STRAIGHT LENGTHS – Produced in the following outside
diameter size ranges.
MIN. DIAMETER -- 3/16” (4.76 MM)
MAX. DIAMETER -- 1-1/18” (28.58 MM)
MIN. LENGTH -- 6” (152.40 MM)
MAX. LENGTH – 25’ (7.62 M)
Cleanliness: Annealed straight
lengths meet or exceed the cleanliness levels of ASTM B-280.
Lengths are capped with plastic ends caps when so specified by
the customer.
Tolerances: Exact straight lengths
are produced to the dimensional tolerances specified in ASTM
B-251. Closer tolerances may be available, provided that prior
agreement is reached between the customer and MANDEV.
Box Weights and Packaging: Exact
straight lengths are provided and packed as per customer’s
requirements.
End Finish: Straight lengths are
supplied with a commercial saw cut with minimum burrs as
standard. A mechanically deburred end is available on request
at added cost.
Tempers: Exact straight lengths
are provided in the following tempers and grain sizes: hard
drawn, dead soft,
soft annealed, light drawn and light annealed.
TEMPERS
The following are available
depending on the product form. Consult specific data listed
for each product to determine which tempers are available.
-
Hard Drawn (H80): No visible grain – used where minimal
forming will be performed and maximum strength is required.
-
Dead Soft: .070 mm grain and above – this is a large
grained product and used where the product is cold worked
repeatedly. This temper work hardens at a much at a slower
rate but is not suitable for extreme forming.
-
Soft Anneal (060): .040 -- .060 mm grain – this temper
is suitable for general purpose bending and forming which
is not as extreme as that requiring light annealed temper.
Soft anneal temper works hardens at a slower rate than
light anneal.
-
Light Drawn (H55): .015 -- .040 mm grain – this
temper is similar to light annealed or light annealed
rotary straightened, but has a much higher yield strength
due to drawing after annealing. This product is used where
high rigidity is desired with minimal amount of forming
ability.
-
Light Anneal (050): .015 -- .040 mm grain – preferred
for tight bends and extreme forming application. This is
an annealed temper with a fine grain size to prevent
“orange peel” and fracturing when forming.
